GDRFA Login: How to Access GDRFA Dubai Smart Services Step by Step

Last updated: 22 July 2026

The GDRFA Dubai smart services portal is where Dubai residency transactions actually happen — applications, renewals, entry permits, fine enquiries, and saved files. But the login screen trips up a lot of people, mostly because there is more than one way in and more than one type of account. This guide walks through every route, in order, plus the fixes for the login problems that come up most often.

If you would rather not deal with the portal at all, our GDRFA Dubai application support submits transactions through the correct channels for you.

Where the GDRFA login page is

The official smart services portal is at smart.gdrfad.gov.ae, reachable from the main GDRFA Dubai website at gdrfad.gov.ae. Always start from the official domain — GDRFA has publicly warned residents about sites and messages that imitate it to harvest personal details.

Official source: Always confirm the latest requirements on the official website: GDRFA Dubai gdrfad.gov.ae.

First: do you actually need to log in?

This is the step that saves most people the trouble. A login is not required for everything:

  • No login needed — checking visa or entry permit status, unified number lookup, and basic fine enquiries are all public services
  • Login needed — submitting or paying for applications, renewals, cancellations, and anything that saves or acts on your file

So if all you want is your application status, you can skip the account entirely — our GDRFA application status guide and GDRFA Dubai visa status check guide both show the no-login route step by step.

Choosing the right account type

The login page splits users into two categories, and picking the wrong one is a very common reason a correct password appears to fail:

  • Individuals — for a person handling their own residency, or their family's, as a sponsor
  • Establishments / Print Centres — for companies, PROs, and licensed typing centres submitting transactions on behalf of others. This is the category our centre uses

Option A: log in with UAE PASS (easiest)

UAE PASS is the UAE's national digital identity, and it is the smoothest route into GDRFA because there is no separate password to maintain.

  1. Open smart.gdrfad.gov.ae.
  2. Click the UAE PASS sign-in button.
  3. Approve the sign-in request in your UAE PASS app (or authenticate with your Emirates ID).
  4. You are returned to the portal, signed in.

If you do not have UAE PASS yet, it can be set up with your Emirates ID and is worth having — the same identity signs you into most UAE government platforms, including ICP.

Option B: log in with a username and password

  1. Open smart.gdrfad.gov.ae.
  2. Select your category — Individuals, or Establishment / Print Centre.
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. Complete two-factor authentication if your account has it enabled.

Creating a new GDRFA account

If you have no account yet, use the "Register now" link on the login page.

  • A valid email address you can access (verification is sent here)
  • A UAE mobile number for verification codes
  • Your Emirates ID or passport details
  • For an establishment account: the trade licence and establishment card details

Register the account in the name and details that match your official documents — a mismatch between your registered profile and your passport or Emirates ID causes problems later when you submit transactions.

Fixing the most common login problems

  • Wrong account category selected — an individual trying to sign in on the establishment tab (and the reverse) is the single most frequent cause
  • Forgotten username or password — use the separate "Forgot Username" and "Forgot Password" links; recovery goes to the registered email or mobile
  • Two-factor authentication failing after a phone change — the login page has a two-factor reset option for exactly this
  • Verification code expired — codes are short-lived; request a fresh one rather than reusing an old message
  • Browser issues — a stale cached session is common; try a private/incognito window or clear the cache
  • Unofficial look-alike sites — if the domain is not gdrfad.gov.ae, do not enter your details

If none of that works, UAE PASS sign-in bypasses the username, password, and two-factor chain completely, and is usually the fastest way back in.

What you can do once you are signed in

  • Apply for and renew entry permits and residence visas for Dubai-sponsored files
  • Track and manage submitted applications and saved transactions
  • Enquire about and settle fines
  • Look up the unified number linked to a file
  • Access establishment services if you hold a company or print-centre account

The GDRFA smart app

GDRFA also publishes a smart app on the Apple App Store and Google Play. It uses the same credentials as the web portal, including UAE PASS, so an account created on either one works on both. The app is convenient for status checks and fine enquiries on the move.

A note for non-Dubai files

GDRFA Dubai only covers files issued in Dubai. If your visa or entry permit was issued in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain or Fujairah, the portal you need is ICP, not GDRFA — see our ICP status check guide and our ICP vs GDRFA Dubai comparison to confirm which one governs your file.

Conclusion

For most people the answer is simple: if you only want a status, no login is needed at all — and if you do need the portal, UAE PASS is the least painful way in. Choose the right account category, keep your registered email and mobile current, and the rest is straightforward. When a transaction needs to be filed correctly the first time, our GDRFA Dubai application support handles the submission for individuals and companies.

Frequently asked questions

What is the GDRFA login page?
The official GDRFA Dubai smart services portal is at smart.gdrfad.gov.ae. From there you sign in as an Individual or as an Establishment / Print Centre, or use the UAE PASS sign-in button instead of a username and password.
Can I log in to GDRFA with UAE PASS?
Yes. The login page has a UAE PASS sign-in option, which is usually the easiest route because it uses your existing verified national digital identity — no separate GDRFA username or password to remember.
Do I need an account just to check my visa status?
No. The visa status enquiry is a public service and does not require a login. You only need an account for services that act on your file, such as applications, renewals, and saved transactions.
What is the difference between an Individual and an Establishment login?
The Individual account is for a person managing their own or their family's residency matters. The Establishment / Print Centre account is for companies and licensed typing centres submitting transactions on behalf of others.
I forgot my GDRFA username or password — what do I do?
The login page has separate "Forgot Username" and "Forgot Password" recovery links, plus an option to reset two-factor authentication. Recovery is sent to the email or mobile number registered on the account.
Why is my GDRFA login not working?
The most common causes are using the wrong account category, an unregistered or mistyped email, an expired verification code, or a two-factor authentication device that has changed. Using UAE PASS instead usually bypasses the problem.
Is there a GDRFA mobile app?
Yes. The GDRFA Dubai smart app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and you sign in with the same smart services credentials or with UAE PASS.
Does GDRFA login work for visas issued outside Dubai?
No. GDRFA Dubai only covers Dubai-issued files. Visas issued in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman and the other emirates are handled on the ICP platform instead.
